It is amazing what happens when you bring gratitude into your life! So many new doors open up! People that you need to meet and places you need to go start showing up out of nowhere.
Before I had begun to practice gratitude on a daily basis, I thought that my town had nothing exciting to and no one else in the area shared my interests. I was so WRONG! Now that I practice gratitude every day I have seen an exponential change in the way that I view my life. I have found three yoga studios, an organic juice bar, a local coffee shop, and two awesome parks to walk in. Also, I have made friends and acquaintances at these places that have broaden my horizons. The other day after yoga, we all went to the juice bar and I chatted with a woman for an hour who was interested in coaching girls in schools. She was so passionate and full of life!
You’ll notice that I’m saying practice, because that is exactly what this takes. You won’t change your whole way of thinking overnight. When you practice gratitude it has a snowball effect. The more you think about it the bigger, stronger, and more powerful it gets.
I talk a lot about gratitude because it is so powerful. It doesn’t require anything else in your life to change. You change your perspective about the circumstances of your life, which changes you.
So I have a challenge for you, every day for a week to write down a list of 3 things in your life that you are grateful for. Then, once you have your list sit and think about each one, take a deep breath, close your eyes and get a mental image of it in your head. Make it a really clear picture, how does it look, smell, taste, sound; now move down to your heart, how does your heart feel when you think about it? Sometimes I feel like my heart fills up with so much joy that it might burst! This is going to show you that you have so many blessings and wonderful opportunities in your life.
